Well, here we are (at Barefoot Beach in Bonita Springs, Florida - a place we highly recommend!)Julianne is our oldest - she's fourteen and will be starting high school in a few short days. Hunter is our middle kiddo, is 10 years old and enjoys homeschooling, Minecraft, and anything Star Wars! Gianna (whom we call Gigi) is our two year old toe-headed ball of energy. She has curly blonde hair (that's actually grown quite long since this picture.) She keeps us ALL on our toes and we love it!
BUT - the inspiration behind the lifestyle & our Airstream's namesake happens to these folks...
This is an old photo of my grandparents - Wyatt & Velma - who I'm quite sure must be the BEST grandfolk to ever walk this planet.
Grandma passed away this Spring after 95 years of using each day to its' fullest. She was an amazing cook and the most hospitable, gracious example of a lady I've ever known. Bonus: both of them have been SUPER involved in our lives from birth (and it probably didn't hurt that my brothers and I grew up just one mere street away from their home!)

My grand-daddy is pretty special (and he's still with us. He's staring at 96 years young this October and has yet to retire!)
The most beautiful thing about Grandpa is the way he took care of his bride. Grandma (a.k.a. Velma)developed dementia about a decade ago and Grandpa has remained an amazing example of a true gentleman through it all. Eventually Grandma required the care of a full-time nursing facility and Grandpa showed up daily to apply her makeup, brush her hair and tease her with his homespun humor.

Each week he came bearing a dozen fresh red roses so that Grandma always had something beautiful to look at (she was an avid gardener for years!) He probably doesn't realize what an inspiration he's been, but I know there are people at the grocery store, the office complex he works at, strangers, friends and family who get warm fuzzies and sunshine shivers just thinking about the husband and example he's been.
I am beyond honored to be this man's grand-daughter!
